A monthly chance to test a new play in BOLD’s space, with a relaxed 3pm sharing for feedback. Low-pressure, creative, and built for busy theatre makers.
Each month, BOLD offers a free rehearsal space for a company, director, or writer to develop a new play. The day ends with a relaxed 3pm sharing, giving you the chance to test ideas with an audience and get valuable feedback. A light-touch, daytime version of our Playwrights Play Night — supportive and low-pressure.
We are doing this through a lottery system. Simply fill in an application online - choose your preference of date and if selected we will get in touch with you.

We are trialling a new scheme, (The) Empty Space - we want our space to be full all the time. And on those few occasions it is free - we want to give it to you. No charge. It’s a space. For free.

Throughout 2026, we will be offering theatre companies different residencies to have a space to thrive and grow. We know how difficult it is in this climate to make art, and to have a chance to experiment and, actually, make mistakes. Let BOLD be a place for you to feel safe in the knowledge that we are here to help nurture your practice and let ideas flow.
We will be offering different length residencies to companies, offering mentorship and support.
