Plays@3

Each month, BOLD offers a free rehearsal space for a company, director, or writer to develop a new play. The day ends with a relaxed 3pm sharing, giving you the chance to test ideas with an audience and get valuable feedback. A light-touch, daytime version of our Playwrights Play Night — supportive, low-pressure, and designed to fit around evening shows.

We invite a small, supportive audience to come and take part and as someone who's attended BOLD events before, we'd love for you to join.

This event is free but there are limited places.

THIRD CULTURE KID by Francis Grin

We think it’s some kind of honour for them to have us here. It’s not. We’re parasites.

Perpetual expat Laura has just moved to another new city in another new country in another new culture. Now in her final year of school, it's time to make a real social effort despite her shyness.

When Laura gets invited to her first Friday night house party she decides to bite the bullet and go. She feels confident she'll survive - that is, until the other students find out who her father is.

'Third Culture Kid' explores the dark underbelly of multiculturalism and expat culture asking the question "Can we be held accountable for the mistakes of our elders?"
